Mike
Masters Joins Sunburst Staff…
Sunburst Recording
is proud to announce the appointment of Mike Masters as Staff
First Engineer. Mike has been both a professional recording
engineer since 1994, and a Pro Tools specialist since 1997.
Before joining the Sunburst Recording staff in early
2008, Mike engineered extensively on both digital and analog
formats at some of the most famous studios in the Los Angeles
area including The Village, Ocean
Way, Westlake Audio and Cello.
He has worked for such diverse producers as John
Cale, founding
member of the legendary band The Velvet
Underground and singer
Gary Lemel who is also President
of Worldwide Music for Warner
Bros Pictures.
Mike has engineered records for various bands such
as The
Flys (Trauma), Nebula (Century
Media/Liquor & Poker),
Ambulance LTD (TVT) and The
Queers (Hopeless Records), and
worked on records with Pride Tiger (EMI,Canada), Maurice (Warner
Bros), Strung
Out (Fat Wreck Chords) and ASG (Volcom
Records}.
Mike also recorded for the HBO hit
show Flight Of The
Conchords, which won a Grammy in
2008 for best comedy album, and engineered the theme song
for the Meet the
Fockers television trailer (Universal Pictures).
Recently Completed:
•Mose
Allison overdubbed acoustic
piano tracks for an upcoming release produced by Don
Heffington (drummer for Emmylou
Harris,
Graham Parker, and The
Wallflowers among others).
•Intel Corporation voice over narration for animated
video on the Intel website. Produced by Susan
Ali from Avenue
A Razorfish, San Francisco.
•Six Doo
Wop Style arrangements and recordings for Richard
Foos,
CEO of Shout! Factory Entertainment. This project was
produced , arranged and recorded by Bob
Wayne and Marty
Kaniger from the band Big
Daddy with the help of Bass
Vocalist Mike Moynahan.
•Are You Listening, a series of one minute radio ads
for The California
Teachers Association / UTLA (United Teachers of Los Angeles) produced by Paul
Williams of Amedias Corporation.
The radio spots feature narration by A.J,
Duffy, President
of UTLA and Vice President Julie
Washington.
•A one hour edited version of
Breaking The Maya Code renamed Cracking
The Maya Code for
airing in early April on the highly acclaimed PBS series
Nova.
•Five songs for the upcoming album from rock band
Sweet Lake Mafia. The Monroe, Louisiana band is produced
by Kiehl Owens for Every
Angle Music of Hermosa Beach, California.
•The Musical Beginnings Academy of Los Angeles released a
CD of eight of their young students performances on piano,
voice, and violin. The academy is directed by Linda
Silva.

•The Carl
Rigoli Quartet tracking
for an upcoming release.
•Piano and vocal duet recordings by Jazz pianist/vocalist
Howlett Smith and vocalist Diane
DeMarco. The selections
feature the duets original compositions and standards.
•Lyricist Jerry Rosenstein recording a number of his original
compositions with music and production by Bob
Wayne along
with vocals by JoAnne Kurman.
