		<description><![CDATA[The mission of the UCLA Library&#8217;s Center for Oral History Research is &#8220;to document the history of Southern California and the Los Angeles metropolitan region through oral history interviews&#8221;.&#160; &#160; Sunburst Recording has been working with the Center archiving some rare audio material, and recently we worked on a fascinating interview with screenwriter Nunnally Johnson (Grapes of Wrath, Tobacco Road, The Three Faces of Eve, and more). &#160; The interview, focusing on Johnson&#8217;s storied career, was restored as part of a research project for an upcoming documentary film on the life of Marilyn Monroe by Moxie Firecracker Films entitled, Fragments: Marilyn Monroe. &#160; Check out the online archives at the UCLA Center for Oral History Research .]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Actor and musician Tim Robbins stopped by Sunburst to record some vocal overdubs on a project he was involved with in New York. Tim did a great rendition of a classic Bob Dylan song, &#34;The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll&#39;. We were reminded of his brilliant work in the1992 film &#34;Bob Roberts&#34;, which was written and directed by Tim, in which he plays a conservative folk singing politician running for office during a fictitious senatorial race. This satirical mockumentary is wonderful and a must see in our book.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Last month, Gabriel Roth was recording at Sunburst to get that classic vintage analog sound.&#160; The project was the new (yet untitled) album by English band The Heavy and included both live horn and string section overdubs.&#160; Roth is best known for his arranging and engineering work with both Amy Winehouse and Sharon Jones &#38; The Dap-Kings. Using his bag of retro recording techniques, Roth employed both analog 24 track 2&#34; and Pro-Tools digital technology along with a number of outboard reverbs including our vintage EMT 140 tube reverb and Orban 111-B spring reverb.]]></description>

Craig plays both instruments but the album features mainly the ukulele along with Cali Rose on vocals, Denny Croy on String Bass and Craig Fundyga on Marimba and Percussion.&#160; Recorded by Bob Wayne at Sunburst in early 2011, the project was produced by Craig Brandau, Cali Rose and Bob Wayne.]]></description>
